Bus routes 16A and 116 run between Dísz Square and Moszkva Square, while the no. 16 bus runs between Deák Ferenc Square and Moszkva Square through the Buda Castle District. Residents of Budapest also call these routes castle buses.
Erzsébet Square
in Erzsébet Square you can admire the capital's most beautiful Neo-Renaissance fountain, the Danubius Fountain. Neptune symbolises the Danube, while the three female figures represent the rivers Tisza, Drava and Sava.

Roosevelt square
several architectural sights can be found here, for example Budapest’s first Neo-Renaissance monument, the Academy of Science, which was inaugurated in 1865 and is situated in the Northern part of the square, on the Pest side of the Chain Bridge. The most famous building on the square is the Gresham Palace, which is an outstanding piece of Hungarian Art Nouveau architecture.

Chain Bridge
it is one of the symbols of Budapest and is the oldest permanent bridge in the Hungarian capital. It is worth walking through the bridge in the evening hours (from the Pest side), when it is completely illuminated. You can enjoy this spectacle, as well as the emerging Buda panorama in the background.
Clark Adam square
it is a square with Neo-Reneissance style in front of the Chain Bridge. The funicular railway, with which you can travel to the Palace where Hungarian royal families used to live, in the Buda Castle District, starts from this square. The starting point of national main routes, the outdoor plastic sign depicting 0 km, was inaugurated in the park in front of the funicural railway.

Dísz square
Dísz Square is the Southern gate of the citizen’s quarter of the Buda Castle district. At the end of the 17th century and in the beginning of the 18th century, Baroque and Classicist residential houses were built on the foundations and walls mostly originating from the medieval times.
You can visit the Baroque residential house called Batthyányi Palace, as well as Sándor Palace, the office of the president of the republic, and the buildings of the Royal Palace.

Szentháromság (Holy Trinity) square
Originally the Holy Trinity statue in the square was a famous piece of Baroque art, and the statue, which also gave its name to the square, was constructed in the 18th century from steel in order to protect the inhabitants of the city from the plague. There are several historical buildings and memorials in Szentháromság Square: the above-mentioned Buda City Hall with its modest style, and the Matthias Church next to the Buda Hilton Hotel. Centuries ago, the latter building used to be a venue for royal weddings and coronation ceremonies. The paintings and interior decorations of the Matthias Church were prepared by the greatest artists of the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. In the square you can also visit one of the most important and popular monuments in Buda: the Fishermen’s Bastion.The equestrian statue of St. Stephen can also be found here.

Kapisztrán square
tourists are advised to visit the building of the Institute and Museum of Military History here. The building does not only serve as a museum, but also houses the archives and maps of military history and a library.

The Tóth Árpád promenade or Bástya promenade, which is one of the most wonderful promenades of the capital, is a few steps away from the square. The promenade, which is surrounded by trees and benches, runs parallel with the castle walls on the South-West side of Buda Castle, from the Fehérvár Rondella to the Esztergom Rondella. On this side of the castle wall you can admire the breathtaking view of the hills and valleys of the Buda district, and you can enjoy the panorama of the Sváb Hill and the Széchenyi Hill on the opposite side.
Bécsi kapu (Vienna gate) square
a row of Baroque and Classicist palaces can be visited here, in addition to the Neo Romanesque palace of the National Archive, and the Lutheran church in the Bécsi Kapu Square, which was built in the middle of the 19th century in eclectic Neo-Baroque style. Near one of the court-houses you can see the statue of St. John of Nepomuk. Another interesting building is the house with a corner balcony decorated with a closed semi circle arcade, in the court of which a more than 50-year-old protected vine-stock can be found.
