Hint! If you buy your Budapest Card from one of the three Tourinform offices at the terminals (Terminal 1, 2A, 2B), you can already utilise the discounts and the free use of public transport system offered by the card for the transfer to the city.

1. By public transport:

Budapest airport is easily accessible by public transport as well. Airport bus no. 200E carries passengers directly to and from Terminal 1 and 2.
Bus no. 200E better suits airport passenger traffic: carrying one’s luggage is easier because of its larger space; it runs more frequently; it runs until late in the night (until midnight) and it establishes the connection between the city and its airport again in the early hours (around 5 a.m.).
The terminus for bus no. 200E is at the end of the "blue" underground line (Kőbánya-Kispest stop), so you can change to the underground here, and reach the city centre (Deák Ferenc Square) within 20 minutes. The public transport system can be used for free with the Budapest Card. You can find more information about the public transport system in Budapest at the website www.bkv.hu. The timetable of bus no. 200E is also available at the website of BKV (www.bkv.hu).
Journey time: 40 minutes
Ticket price: price of two single BKV tickets - Free with Budapest Card!
BKV tickets can be bought at the airport post office (8 a.m. - 3 p.m.), at the newsagent's and from the ticket machine at Terminal 2.  The Budapest Card can also be purchased in the Tourinform offices.

2. By train:

Budapest Nyugati train station and Ferihegy 1 are directly connected by train, the journey time of which is less than half an hour. Travellers who arrive at Terminal 2A or 2B can reach Ferihegy Terminal 1 by bus.
Arriving passengers can buy their tickets in the Tourinform office at Terminal 1 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Outside opening hours, tickets can be bought from the machines at platform B. Budapest Card holders can use this service with a discount of 20%.
Journey time: approximately 25 minutes
Ticket price: HUF 365 – 20% discount with Budapest Card

3. Mini bus (shuttle service):

All 24 hours of the day, microbuses for eight or ten people carry passengers between the airport and the city. The minibuses operate as collection and dispersal vehicles, which means that passengers travelling in the same direction or from the same direction towards the airport can reserve their places on these buses.
More information: www.airportshuttle.hu
10% discount with Budapest Card.

4. Taxi:

Zóna taxi is the contracted transport company of Budapest airport. They operate with a fixed rate between the airport and the zones of the city set out below:
Zone 1-2: HUF 3,600 / taxi (EUR 16 / taxi)
Zone 3: HUF 4000 / taxi (EUR 18 / taxi)
Zone 4: HUF 4400 / taxi (EUR 20 / taxi)

These prices only include the transfer from the airport to the city, and they do not include any extra prices resulting from the passenger’s possible individual needs.

Upon ordering the transfer, the passenger receives a voucher at the ticket counter, which certifies the claimed service including the transfer fee and the possible extra prices.  It is advisable to keep the voucher, because it can be a significant help during the examination of any possible passenger reimbursement. A taximeter will be used during the transfer. If the taximeter shows a lower transfer fee, the passenger only has to pay this amount. The transfer fee can be paid at the ticket counters using a bank card.
