The Design District Budapest links together designer shops in the V. district. It was created in order to expose the Hungarian design-products of designer shops established in the downtown district.
Limited edition collections, home textiles, hand-made furniture, accessories, handcrafted perfume, chocolate and several other specialties can be found at these locations. Shops, workshops, showrooms, in a special atmosphere, reveal their unique designed treasures.

It seems like a million years ago when I went to my first Lollipop party, so best not to go into details. In the eyes of the event organiser/designer team these parties were as much about clothes as they were about music. Then all of a sudden designing turned serious: it was four yeas ago when the first pieces were made and were sold at Retrock.

 

The Lollipop collection is so substantial now that it merits its own shop. The store is decorated with bright colours, lollipops, robots and so many other things that once overcoming the initial shock you’ll want to take the whole interior home.

WAMP (Wasárnapi Művészpiac - Hungarian Design Market)

WAMP is a regular design fair, organized monthly. Presenting around 100 Hungarian designers and fresh djs every time the event has become one of the most important cultural and design forums in Budapest. Jewellery, graphic design, textiles, ceramics, glassware, recycling objects as well as toy design objects are presented by designers on the fair. The aim of the initiative is to support and promote contemporary Hungarian design, as well as to enhance demand for design in everyday life. WAMP was established in 2006 with the aim to bringing designers closer to public and to creating a common platform for unique, quality and available design objects. In the summer Erzsébet square (former bus station) and in winter Gödör Klub hosts the event. The special atmosphere of the fair was once a novelty in Budapest but became an awaited regular event after becoming generally known.

In French, Je Suis Belle means "I am Beautiful," but to two new designers on the forefront of the Budapest scene, it is an expression to fit the profile of a young and modern woman.  To Dalma Dévényi and Tibi Kiss, Je Suis Belle epitomizes a concept. Je Suis Belle was established in 2005 by two young fashion design students who met while attending the Moholy-Nagy University of Applied Arts in Budapest, Hungary, and has been running as a full time business ever since. Their style is geared toward a casual, elegant and playful girl.  The design team has won first place in the 2005 ARC billboard competition in the category of "I Love Hungary," as well as placing first in an international fashion show in Denmark.  In 2007, Dalma & Tibi were named the years top young fashion designers in Hungary.
